This song is asking people to realize that we're not important. If we can get over ourselves maybe we can work together to start exploring again.

We are ants on a hill, cancer in the blood, a grain of sand upon a beach, a droplet in a flood. We are electrons in a storm, a cricket in a field, a chopstick in China, a pine on the Canadian Shield. Give us a reason to survive, to fall in love, to stay alive, to work hard and have a baby boy. A reason why we ought to be employed.Give us something to hold on to. Help us to raise our eyes, help us to improvise, help us to see the lies, help us to compromise, help us to see that there's more than just ourselves. The future is yours to invent so write a letter to parliament 'cause it's time to explore space again.
