In religion, mythology and nature there are certain things that are white. So when used to label a person, 'white' is not just a skin colour; it's also to some degree the embodiment of everything in literature and stories and society that's also considered 'white'. So as a silly example, when in Lord of the Rings a sorcerer becomes a 'white wizard' there is both a reason why the greatest of all wizards is naturally chosen to be white and there is also an effect due to the fact that Tolkien (and in fact many before him) decided that the greatest wizard ought to be white. Anyways, this isn't a political or social statement; it's just an observation, an inspiration for a song and some food for thought.
Angels from heaven, ruins in Greece, Sugar and cocaine and the white doves of peace. Polar bears, white squalls of the seas, The albatross and the northern birch trees. The snow white bull that Zeus becomes, The expressive colour of our dead loved ones. White robes of the redeemed the story of St. John, The great white horses the queens carriage is drawn, Snow covered mountains an Irish girls skin, The primer put down before you can even begin. The killer that smells blood in the night. The vicious killer, we call the great white.
