#64: Poem 7 about Hope

Two months ago I wrote 12 poems about hope. Not my usual topic; it was a request. Strangely, it was one of the more frustrating projects I've worked on in the last little while. This is the 7th poem of that group of poems.

If you can't feel the fire quietly licking then you can't feel hope,
But it's there cause not having hope's like not having a heart.
That Flame: you covered it with thoughts and stories and fixes but if you want,
If you want I'll hold you close and you can watch me light up and burn.
And then you'll know.

  1. I always enjoy songs of hope and inspiration. Especially with all the turmoil going on in the world. This is a song I'm adding to my playlist.

  3. Listened to the song because I wondered if it would relate to Japan's crisis or African uprise or just hope in general. Your thoughts/feelings as to what "hope is" tend to be a bit confusing in the text. Maybe that is due to the fact that the meaning of "hope" is so individual and changes as we apply it to different circumstances. Not an easy task, but you say this is only one of the many poems that you wrote. I found the melody without any color, but then it is very short.Looking forward to some more, Bert.
