#68: The Birds in this Town

I went for a walk yesterday and saw a huge hawk that I've seen almost every day since I've been here. Later that day I was sitting at the piano and these little birds kept fluttering around the doors by the piano and tapping the glass with their beaks. I decided to be selfish and write another poem set to music.

The hawks, they fly around this town, telling me that things are fine if you don't come down. The sparrows, they follow me down the street, after being my metronomes, tapping the french doors with their beaks. Take my hand, as we take this whole last month in review. It's become quite clear, that neither of us know what the hell we should do. But I've learned from this time in Paris and alone that I can't possess your soul without losing my own.
