#70: Absence

I'm really excited about my last 30 songs. I've written 5 songs in the last week but didn't post any of them. I'm not exactly sure what I'm waiting for but I feel something about to happen in these last 30 songs...and the last 5 were just songs getting in the way of the songs I want to write. This song isn't really what I've been hoping for but I think it's worth posting. I wrote it after a long conversation with Megan (who I sing with in my new band, My Home The Stars). I swear to god, 'I Walk the Line' by Johnny Cash just came on at this coffee shop....uncanny.

I'm counting on you to hold it all together here, while I'm on the road in another country dear. In times like this we prove what our hearts are really made of. While I'm on the move you'll have to face the things that you're afraid of. Does absence make the heart grow fonder? Or does it make the heart go wander? All this time I've walked the line and you know I'm not the crossing kind, don't throw this away just cause I can't stay. I've lived my life my seeds are sewn and you know I'm not a rolling stone. I'd come home for you if you asked me to.
