#14: It's Tricky These Days

I started this song wanting to write a rap song. I'm not sure if this ended up being a rap song or not. It's actually more of a Small Town Treason song if anything.

It's hard to be anything when you're sitting here with everything,
I know there's plenty of sunshine coming my way but my oh my it's tricky these days.

Hey boy there's no need to shout, you'll find that wisdom is doubt, the whole problem with the whole world is fools and fanatics are the ones who get heard, shouting at the top of their voices, believe in their choices cause they're so boisterous, they'll make you think you're fucked because money and a car just make you feel stuck. Hey man we could go for a drive but your car burns oil and burns bee hives. Hey man we could go for a ride but your bike has gears that change all the time. Hey man we could go for a swim but you can't keep up you'll drown once you're in. Hey man we could go for a stroll but you're young and beautiful, walk when you're old. Things are hard these days so it seems strange to see that life is smooth as silk, life can be so easy. Let's both go fishin' at the ol' fishin' hole, you grab a line and I'll grab a pole. Sittin' on the bridge you knew you couldn't swim, you knew you'd die so why jump in?
