#55: We Just Have to Let it Go
Leaving NZ today. Jon and I wrote this song when we were staying in a tiny town on the west coast of the south island. We hiked the Routeburn trail and Fox glacier over the three exhausting days. I stayed awake just long enough that night to figure out the words, even though the concept was in my head for the last four days. We recorded this song in record time before I had to fly out to Wellington. So here it is, the last of the NZ songs and the end of a great trip.
If you let go of the past and your reservations, I'll let go of the future and my expectations. We won't break free, not at this rate cause the things we can't control have become dead weight. If we could float above and see the scratches on the town, we wouldn't feel so pinned down by the scorching hot ground. Our souls are made of water that escapes through these pores, making droplets in the sky and floating up to the stars. We just have to let it go. Yeah we just have to let it go.
