#69: Slip
This song is a Jon Dhama original. We've learned to collaborate in a way where he takes my songs and makes them more listenable and I take his and make them...well...less listenable. So this is the latter, a variation on a song Jon wrote a few years ago, orchestrated for the band that we're creating and infused with the essence of storm clouds and a hint of the Gulag.
I woke up feeling kind of down today, starting thinking of my life, it seems the simple life's getting old. What's the story should I prove it all again, that burning bridges burn so bright, and intuition might, save our souls. Exactly what I fear will happen always does, ending speculation that I'm fine, if read between the lines, you'd know. That every time I get warm I get cold again, whenever I find beauty I go blind, I wasted my head start off the line. Every time I get close I'm shot down again, seem likes every time I try, I start to lose control. I wonder what will happen when I'm old? And certain situations get the best of me. Trying to believe I wouldn't fall...slip and lose it all. Slip and lose it all.
I really really liked this one!!
ReplyDeleteHahaha! I was just going to say, "haven't made it very far down the list yet, but this one's definitely my favourite". And then Aida... there you were! Great musical taste to all. Very great taste.
